Whisk the flours, sugar, baking powder, salt and cinnamon (if using) in a mixing bowl.
Pour in the milk, oil, and vanilla and mix until just combined (leaving some chunks).
Fold in the chocolate chips/chunks.
Heat up a frying pan on medium-high heat and cover the bottom lightly with oil.
For each pancake, place a slice of banana on the pan. Pour one tablespoon of batter on top of the banana slice. Make as many as you can at once without overcrowding the pan.
Cook until golden-brown on each side.
Serve with any remaining banana slices, walnuts, and syrup.
