To make life a little easier for some of you and to help support some amazing businesses, we wanted to round up our favorite vegan/vegan-friendly restaurants in metro Detroit that are offering takeout and/or delivery right now!
Vegan Cheesy Bread from Pi-Sci Make Your Own Pizza from Pi-Sci: onion, jalapeño, tofu bacon, herb mayo, vegan cheese
Pi-Sci Pizza (Detroit): Our absolute favorite for vegan pizza and breadsticks — not only do they have vegan cheese, but they have vegan herb mayo, tofu bacon, and lots of other vegan meats! They also have the nicest staff EVER. They are open limited hours for takeout and delivery (delivery is limited times and distance).

Go! Sy Thai (Detroit): One of our go-to’s for Thai takeout! They have a lot of already vegan options and can make many of their dishes vegan if you ask. They are open limited hours for carry-out.

Rocky’s Road Brew in Detroit (Detroit): A vegan tacos and coffee truck located at 5410 W. Vernor Hwy. They are open for takeout and on Grubhub for delivery — be sure to check their Instagram for their daily hours!

Poke Poke (Detroit): We LOVE this place for delicious vegan poke bowls! They are open for takeout and delivery, you can place your order via their website (PLUS, they are offering a 25% discount right now due to the pandemic).

Grandma Bob’s (Detroit): If you’re looking for delicious vegan pizza and cheesy bread, look no further than Grandma Bob’s (can we talk about how good that cheesy bread looks?!) They are open limited hours for carry-out.

Nosh Pit (Detroit): This place is perfect if you’re craving a delicious cheesy vegan sandwich! Not to mention, they also have vegan nachos, so what are you waiting for? They are open limited hours for touchless carry-out and delivery. They are also available on Grubhub, Doordash, and UberEats.

For the Love of Sugar (Detroit): The BEST vegan macarons we’ve found! They are open limited hours for carry-out only.
Nashville Hot “Chicken” Sandwich from Ale Mary’s
Ale Mary’s (Royal Oak): We LOVE Ale Mary’s for when we are craving vegan comfort food — from milkshakes to quesadillas to burgers and fries — they’ve got it all. They are currently open for carry-out and available for delivery on Grubhub.

Einstein’s Bros Bagels (Grosse Pointe): We love picking up bagels from here and putting on our own vegan cream cheese or avocado on at home (they do offer an avocado spread if you don’t have any at home)! They are currently open for carry-out.
2491 Street Food (Royal Oak & Detroit): Delicious Mediterranean food that’s quick, easy, and fresh! They are currently open for pick-up (place an order through their site) or for delivery via UberEats and GrubHub.

Cold Truth (Detroit): We love this place for delicious vegan soft serve and toppings! Their pints are available for curbside pick-up.
Red Star (Dearborn): One of our go-to’s for Chinese takeout. Open for pick-up ONLY (no delivery)– call them to place your order!
Hippies Pizza (Royal Oak): One of our favorite spots for vegan pizza and breadsticks — not only do they offer vegan cheese, but they have vegan sausage and pepperoni! Open for delivery and/or take-out (you can place your order online).
Vegetarian Pho with Tofu from Pho Lucky
Pho Lucky (Detroit): Delicious vegan pho packed with veggies and tofu! They are currently open for carryout.

Atwater Brewery (Grosse Pointe): They are offering beer-to-go and selling their own hand sanitizer, available for purchase with a curbside pickup (according to their Instagram, they are working on curbside food delivery, so stay tuned for that)!
Unburger Grill (Dearborn): This place is great if you’re looking for vegan fast food– they’ve got it all! They are currently open for curbside carry-out.

Spread Deli + Coffee (Detroit): Would you just look at that reuben? Spread offers delicious vegan sandwiches that taste as good as they look! They are open for carry-out, call or email them to place your order.
Of course, we can’t leave out some of our favorite restaurants that are unfortunately closed due to the pandemic. We’ve listed them below and if you can, we encourage you to buy a gift card and visit them when they are back open!
Tofu California from Seva Chicken-Fried Tofu from Seva General Tso’s Cauliflower from Seva
Seva (Detroit): Currently closed, but one of our favorite spots for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner! They have the best staff, a nice patio, and amazing food.

Detroit Water Ice (Detroit): Currently closed, but a fun summer spot for some refreshing Italian ice

Green Dot Stables (Detroit): Currently closed. We love this place for vegan sliders, fries, and drinks! It has a great atmosphere and is a fun place to go with friends (because there’s something for everyone)!

Burrito Mundo (Grosse Pointe): Currently closed, but we love this place for when we are craving Mexican food– we typically get a burrito and enjoy it with a side of chips and guacamole or salsa!

PJ’s Lager House (Detroit): Currently closed, but you can support them by donating to their gofundme here. We can’t wait to get back here for brunch when they open back up!
Chili Mustard and Onions (Detroit): Currently closed. They are one of our favorite restaurants in Detroit! If you’re ever looking for vegan comfort food, look no further than CMO — they specialize in vegan coney island style hot dogs and chili cheese fries (YUM) .

Detroit Institute of Bagels (Detroit): Currently closed, but you can support them by buying a gift card on their website here. One of our absolute favorites for bagels with vegan cream cheese in downtown Detroit!

Laika Dog (Detroit): it looks like they are currently closed, if you know otherwise, please let us know! This place is so good for when we are craving some delicious comfort food like vegan hot dogs and fries!

Bobcat Bonnie’s: Currently closed, but we love this place for brunch (they have great vegan options and label everything clearly on their menu)! You can support them by donating to their GoFundMe here.

Hopcat (Detroit): Currently closed, but we love seeing bigger bar/restaurant chains offering vegan food!

The Bricks Pizzeria (Grosse Pointe): Currently closed, but we love this spot for their great atmosphere and yummy food! They are completely nut-free and vegan-friendly (they used to have vegan cheese but got rid of it because of nuts and are working on getting another kind).

Bangkok 96 Restaurant (Detroit): Currently closed, but look at that roll!! So good. We can’t wait to get back here as soon as they are open again!

Ima (Detroit): Currently closed, but you can support them by purchasing a gift card on their website. We can’t wait to have their Udon Bowl again!

Commonwealth Cafe (Birmingham): Currently closed, but we love this bright, airy cafe for brunch.
Sweeties Ice Cream & Candy (Grosse Pointe): Currently closed, but we love this cute ice cream shop that we hope will open back up in time for summer!

Donut Bar (Troy): Currently closed, but can we talk about how cute their donuts are?! We can’t wait to pick up some more when they are back up and running!
The Brooklyn Street Local (Detroit): Currently closed, but one of our absolute favorites for vegan brunch (we can’t wait for them to open back up)!

Shangri-La (Detroit): We tried calling and no answer, so we are assuming they are currently closed. Please let us know if you know otherwise! This is a great spot if you’re looking for some delicious vegan sushi.
We hope you guys found this guide helpful and will continue to support local restaurants (if you can, of course) during this uncertain time. We cannot WAIT for the day when restaurants open back up and we can continue to enjoy all the amazing food they have to offer.
